Traditional Laminate-Making Process
Particles of aluminum oxide – the primary material that determines the wear resistance of laminate – is incorporated in the paper overlay. Their deposition is dictated by the papermaking process, before the overlay comes to Wilsonart to be made into laminate.

Laminate with AEON
technology deposits aluminum oxide particles in layers and controls resin flow, so small particles reside nearer the surface of the overlay sheet and larger particles reside within the overlay sheet – for superior durability, scratch/scuff/mar resistance, print fidelity and color saturation. This process is completed in Wilsonart’s manufacturing facility, ensuring consistency and quality of placement.

Laminate with AEON technology outperforms traditional laminate on wear resistance, as well as scratch/scuff/mar resistance. For more information on how we tested AEON Enhanced Performance, click here.
