Cleaning Tips
To clean the surface, use a damp cloth or sponge and a mild soap or detergent. Difficult stains such as coffee or tea can be removed using a mild household cleaner and baking soda; mixing to achieve a paste consistency. Use a stiff nylon bristle brush, scrubbing (approx. 15-20 strokes) the affected area. Do not scrub so as to mar (damage, scratch) the surface finish.
Stubborn stains that resist any of the above cleaning methods may require the use of undiluted household bleach or nail polish remover. Use a cotton ball saturated with bleach or nail polish remover (acetone), gently rub the stain for up to two minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and wipe dry using a soft cloth. This step may be repeated if the stain appears to be going away and the color of the laminate has not been affected.
WARNING: Prolonged exposure of the laminate surface to bleach will cause discoloration. Always rinse laminate surfaces after cleaning! Failure to rinse after cleaning can cause damage; even if a small amount of cleaning solution remains on the surface. A dry residue may be invisible; however, moisture from cups or drinks can reactivate it, and result in permanently etched scars or stains over time.

A Few Notes of Caution
Acidic or abrasive cleaners can damage laminate surfaces; do not use them. Drain cleaners containing lye will permanently damage the laminate surface. If you spill a drain cleaner, wipe it up immediately and rinse several times with water.
Hair, textile and food dyes can cause permanent stains. If dye should happen to spill, wipe it up immediately with dishwashing detergent or an all-purpose cleaner.
Wipe spills away promptly and rinse several times with water.
Rust removers contain harsh chemicals, which will quickly cause permanent damage. If a spill occurs, wipe off all residue immediately, wash thoroughly with soapy water and rinse several times.
Steel wool and other abrasive pads will damage the laminate face. Do not use them for cleaning and don’t store steel wool pads on your countertop; the metal can rust and leave stains.
Toilet bowl cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can cause permanent damage. If spills occur, wipe up immediately, wash surface with soapy water and rinse several times.

Remember, sharp objects can damage the surface of Wilsonart Laminate, marring its beauty and lowering wear and stain resistance. Although high pressure laminates are somewhat resistant to scratch and marring, the surface can be damaged, even under normal use.
Wilsonart Laminate may need occasional dusting depending on where it’s used. To keep the surface beautiful, use a non-oily furniture spray. (Remember to clean the spray off several times a year to prevent build-up.) Furniture polish can also help hide fine scratches in the surface.
Wilsonart® Flooring
When it comes to maintenance, Wilsonart Contract Flooring is all about minimalism. Simply follow these basic maintenance guidelines to keep your beautiful floor looking like new for years to come:
Routine cleaning: Vacuum or use a dry electrostatic cleaner to remove loose dirt and debris. Do NOT use Wet mops or Wipes containing oil, polishes, waxes or detergents such as Swiffer® Wet products.
Spot cleaning: Wilsonart Flooring Cleaner (Ready-To-Use spray bottle) may be sprayed directly on the floor and wiped with a flat-bottom cotton/terrycloth mop.
Deep cleaning: Damp mop using two ounces of Wilsonart Flooring Cleaner (Concentrate) diluted in a gallon of warm water and a cotton string or terrycloth mop. NEVER wash mop head in regular laundry detergent, soap or fabric softener (a residue can build up in the mop head and be transferred to the floor).
Preventive maintenance: Use felt pads on furniture legs and walk-off mats at outside entrances to prevent scratches and preserve the appearance of the floor.

Finishes
There are four types of finishes that can be supplied on your Wilsonart® Solid Surface by your fabricator/installer. The following simple definitions should assist with key items to consider when choosing a finish and necessary maintenance.
Matte – Recommended standard finish especially in high traffic areas with low or no sheen and normally requires the least maintenance.
Satin – Slightly higher sheen that may require more attention depending on traffic and use.
Semi-gloss – Higher sheen with some reflection requires special consumer instructions, not suggested for a high traffic or high use areas, may require a certified fabricator to maintain, service charge may apply.
Gloss – Recommended for vertical surface only, requires certified fabricator to maintain finish, service charge may apply.
Darker patterns may need more frequent attention to maintain a uniform finish.
Over time with use and general cleaning the surface finish will appear to change. We recommend to periodically clean the entire surface following the guidelines for removing stubborn residue to restore or maintain the original finish.
General Cleaning
For day to day cleaning, warm soapy water or non-abrasive household cleaners such as glass cleaner, Fantastik®, Formula 409® or commercially available solid surface cleaners will remove most residues. Then rinse and towel dry the surface to prevent spotting especially in areas with hard water. For a final touch, you may apply Protect All Shine Plus™ to your countertop for a clean, dry professional appearance.
For stubborn residue that will not come out with day to day cleaning methods requires a slightly stronger cleaner. The following suggestions will assist you to remove stubborn residue and refurbish the finish.

Simple Precautions
Although Wilsonart Solid Surface can be renewed or repaired if necessary by a professional fabricator, it’s best to try and avoid serious damage by following these few simple guidelines.
Preventing Heat Damage
Although Wilsonart Solid Surface is heat resistant, common sense should be applied concerning exposure to direct heat. As with all types of countertops use solid trivets with rubber tip feet or flame resistant heat mats when placing hot objects, heat producing appliances such as electric skillets, crock pots, etc. on the countertop.
Protecting the Surface
- Avoid exposing the surface to harsh chemicals such as paint removers/thinners, acetone based cleaners, stove/drain cleaners, etc. If these come in contact with the surface, quickly wash off with water, using the appropriate safety measures to avoid injury.
- Do not cut directly on the surface of your countertop, always use a cutting board. While minor cuts and scratches can be repaired by the consumer, deeper cuts may require service of a professional at an added expense.
- Do not stand or sit on the countertop
